The IHG® Rewards Club Program makes earning rewards easier by offering many different ways to earn points. If you are a frequent flyer, consider earning airline miles through the rewards program. With IHG® Rewards Club’s Partner Airlines, rates can vary from 1-2 miles per dollar spent to flat rates on a qualifying stay. IHG partners with 50 frequent flyer programs around the world; you can refer to the chart below for each partner’s rate.

How do I earn Airline Miles?

IHG® Rewards Club members have the option to switch to earning miles at any time. To change your earning preferences, you can sign into your IHG® Rewards Club account, go to Account Status and select to earn airline miles. You will need to know your preferred miles program, as well as your member number with that program. The earning and exchange rates vary per miles program; some programs exchange at a dollar rate, while other programs exchange with a flat rate per qualifying stay.

What’s a “night” vs. a “stay”?

A “night” is one night at any IHG hotel. A “stay” can be any number of consecutive nights at the same hotel, regardless of the frequency of check-in/check-out. A night or stay is “qualified” when you pay the qualifying room rate, which includes most business and leisure rates. Contact individual IHG hotels to confirm your stay is qualified.

The Fine Print

  • Members will not earn points during a stay or retroactively on any reservations booked through Online Travel Agencies.
  • Only one room will be credited per member per night; however, at U.S. and Canadian hotels (except InterContinental), you can collect miles on all eligible charges for multiple hotel rooms (less than 10), provided those rooms are used in conjunction with your stay at the same hotel, and your member number is recorded on each reservation, or the charges from those multiple room reservations are referred to on the hotel room bill associated with your reservation.
  • Miles will not be issued if your room is paid for by a trade group, association, or company as part of a convention or group business meeting (10 rooms or more). If you stay at an IHG hotel under the terms of a contract or group commitment, you will not be eligible to receive points.
  • Miles are not awarded for Reward Night stays; however, points are awarded for all other eligible charges to the member’s room (except InterContinental). Reward Night stays are defined as those in which a member redeems points for a Reward Night.
  • IHG Army Hotels: All rewards members earn 3 hotel points/$1 USD regardless of earning preference when staying at an IHG Army Hotel.
  • You may not collect both IHG® Rewards Club points and miles/credits for the same stay, except during special promotions or offers.
  • Miles are not redeemable for cash or any other form of credit and have no value until presented for redemption.
